Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know about a few upcoming events that we need some volunteers for, so if you are free on these days, please come join in!
1) Hay Ride aka "Flight Lesons" at Miracle Ranch is on Thursday, Jan. 26th. We'll be meeting at WBYO at 4:00, taking a bus to Miracle Ranch and returning for WBYO for 8:30. Dress warmly!! (please note that there will be no Sports Night next week!)
2) Snoball- Saturday, January 28th, 12-4pm at Broadway Neighbourhood Centre field. This annual Winter Carnival is always lots of fun, with hockey, snow people building, great food, and the community coming together to enjoy the winter. We are again in charge of the Obstacle Course this year, so we'll need help the Friday before (the 27th) from 4-7pm to build the Obstacle Course and then the day of, starting at 11am for set-up, and then there are different tasks throughout the day- you can help us run the obstacle course, or you could help out with hockey, broom ball, skate tying, or food prep in the kitchen.
3) Lawyers for Literacy- Saturday, Feb. 4th, 10am-4pm at Crossways. The read-a-thon was a ton of fun last year, with about 70 kids coming out to read for the day with about 50 lawyers. There will be pizza and snacks, and a lot of kids who want someone to read to! Come out to help us with registration, set-up or clean up or just come to be an extra reader to read books with kids for the day!
Please let us know if you are available for any of these days, and if so, what times and what you'd like to do, so I can start making a bit of a schedule- especially for Snoball as we are coordinating it with other agencies.
Thanks everyone, see you soon!
