COMING TO A PARK, SCHOOL OR EVENT NEAR YOU!!
We have recently unveiled our long-awaited (9 years!!) surprise
to the public – our Book Bike!
At WBYO, we believe in giving back and spreading our love of reading and literacy.
We have created a mobile library that consists of approximately 150 different books
at reading levels for all ages.
Our team will be spending our summer days biking to different parks and local spaces and engaging and reading with children; we will be handing out Library Cards that,
once stamped 10 times, can be traded in for an ice cream at
any Zeid’s FoodFare location in Winnipeg.
The catch?
In order to receive a stamp, a child must read a book to one of our team members
or volunteers; children who are reading at the level of chapter books or
young adult novels must submit a Book Report to one of our team members
or volunteers and pass a short Book Report test in order to obtain their stamps.
Once their Library Card is full (has 10 stamps), children can trade it for an ice cream
at any Zeid’s FoodFare location in Winnipeg.
We look forward to making new friends and sharing our love of literacy
with the community!
