Join WBYO’s Board of Directors!
West Broadway Youth Outreach (WBYO), founded 32 years ago, is a drop-in recreational and life skills program serving youth ages 4 and up in the West Broadway area and beyond. We provide free, year-round after-school and summer programming in a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring children—including newcomers, visible minorities, and those facing literacy, numeracy, or crime prevention challenges—have opportunities to grow emotionally, socially, and academically. Our mission is to empower young people through positive role models and supportive programming that meets their fundamental needs!
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors, particularly those with expertise in
- Nonprofit Governance
- Fundraising
- Financial Management
- Community Engagement
- Legal Affairs
While prior board experience is an asset, we prioritize passion for youth development, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to creating opportunities for young people. The time commitment is approximately 6-8 hours per month, including monthly board meetings (held both in-person and online), sub-committee work, and event participation. Board members serve a 2-year volunteer term, designed to balance meaningful contribution with sustainability, ensuring fresh perspectives and preventing burnout.
If you’re eager to make a lasting impact, we invite you to apply!
