Doug is WBYO’s Interim Board Chair and a retired project manager and asset planning consultant with extensive leadership and planning experience. He has served on the boards of Children’s House Montessori School and the Amadeus Steen Foundation. Today, Doug devotes his time to coaching and promoting youth volleyball, co-coordinating the Cuban Pavilion for Folklorama 2025, and supporting his family. He brings governance knowledge, community spirit, and dedication to ensuring WBYO’s long-term success. |
Ramsey ZeidMeet Ramsey, WBYO's Board Member!
Ramsey has operated Food Fare on Maryland for more than 30 years, building strong relationships with families and community members in Winnipeg. His dedication to supporting youth and giving back to his neighborhood guides his role on the WBYO Board. With decades of business and community service experience, Ramsey provides valuable insight into sustainability and local needs, helping ensure WBYO remains a safe, supportive, and inspiring place for children and youth to thrive. |
Christian TorfasonMeet Christian, WBYO's Treasurer!
Christian is WBYO’s Treasurer and has spent the past seven years working in the public sector across various levels of government. He currently works with the Manitoba Government, focusing on industry and labour market data analysis. Christian brings policy knowledge, analytical skills, and financial oversight to the WBYO Board, ensuring accountability and transparency in organizational decision-making. He is committed to helping WBYO’s programs remain impactful, sustainable, and centered on the well-being and growth of children and youth. |
Christina RabetMeet Christina, WBYO's Board Member!
Christina serves with the Government of Manitoba in the Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning. She previously worked in the Department of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care (2022–2024) and participated in the Manitoba Legislative Internship Program (2021–2022). With a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Christina brings strong policy knowledge and public sector experience to the WBYO Board. She is dedicated to helping WBYO deliver opportunities that strengthen children, families, and the wider community. |
Kenny DaoduMeet Kenny, WBYO's Board Member!
Kenny has been a social and healthcare worker with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority for over 30 years and a dedicated organizer in the Black community. She made history as the first Black woman from Nigeria to run as a political candidate in Manitoba, standing for MLA in 2007 and MP in 2008. A frequent guest speaker on immigration, human rights, and cultural issues, Kenny inspires others with her message: never give up on your dreams. |
Tanya ZadorozhniaMeet Tetiana, WBYO's Board Member!
Tetiana is a WBYO Board Director with a background in marketing, public relations, and content development from her career in Ukraine. Since moving to Winnipeg in 2023, she has built a career in property management and continues to volunteer her time to support newcomers—helping families with paperwork, housing, food access, and settlement guidance. She holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism, which provides her with strong analytical and critical thinking skills that she applies to her role in WBYO’s governance. |
Chris XuMeet Chris, WBYO's Board Member!
Chris Xu brings international experience in business management, strategic planning, and client relations. He worked for over a decade in China in senior roles across the tech and business sectors, including as an account manager at PayPal. From 2019 to 2023, he worked as a self-employed investor, developing strategies and analytical skills. Since moving to Winnipeg, Chris has volunteered as a program coordinator and administrative professional, passionate about youth development and community service. |
Grace OluwadebiGrace is a Scientist and Project Management Professional with a strong background in geo-environmental research and program leadership.
She is a passionate advocate for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), with a particular focus on empowering youth and encouraging more female participation. Her experience spans digital health transformation, insurance, and the public sector, where she has successfully led impactful projects. Grace has mentored over 5,000 students across Africa, particularly in Nigeria, and has continued this work in Canada, inspiring the next generation of scientists. Deeply committed to community development and youth empowerment, she brings her expertise in research, project management, and mentorship to advance the mission and programs of West Broadway Youth Outreach. |
