During any of our programming, there are very simple expectations laid out. The children know that their job is their behavior and the staff’s job is their safety. When both of these jobs are achieved, wonderful things can, and do happen. There are only three simple rules pertaining to the children’s behaviour:
- Treat others the way you want to be treated
- Use appropriate language
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself

MONDAYS
Computers, Bookworms - 3:30 - 5:00
Bookworms program takes place in our space on the second flood of the Crossways building. Kids come by after school and read independently or with staff or volunteers They may also play with any of the toys, games or computers we have in our space.Homework Club - 3:30 - 5:00pm
Homework Club is where kids can bring any school work they have been given (they can always ask their teachers for extra work!), and have a space with snacks, supplies and tutors to help them with their work. Homework kids get spoiled at WBYO with treats, outings and anything else we can think of!Small Time Fun Pack - 6:00pm - 8:30pm
This program is geared towards the 4 -7 age group. Older children are welcome to join keeping in mind that the day is for the younger group. There are often a large number of older children that come on a regular basis and often help the younger ones play board games. We play games like Frozen Tag, Ghostbusters, Simon Says, Everybody's It, Snatch the Beanbag etc. in the multi-purpose room of the Crossways building. As always, all games played are chosen and voted on by the children. Board Game Sign Out Kids are allowed to sign out any of our collection of board games for a week with their parent's permission.TUESDAYS
Swimming at Sherbrook Pool - 3:40 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Kids meet at Mulvey school at 3:40 pm or 4:00 at Sherbrook Pool. Poolside there is always a parks and recreation lifeguard and two or more West Broadway staff, plus volunteers. We walk back to the kitchen at crossways for snacks and are finished at 5:30pm.Family Bingo or Movie Night - 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Every Tuesday alternates between movies and bingo. All the movies are rated general and if there is a movie that is parental guidance that the children are asking to see we get permission from parents before showing the film. Bingo is fun for everyone because no one leaves without winning something.Kids Laundry Night
Kids are allowed to bring in a small amount of laundry to be washed with our swimming clothes during the movie or bingo.WEDNESDAYS
After School Program - 3:40pm - 5:00pm
This program is held in the gymnasium of Mulvey school. We play games like change lines, doctor dodgeball, musical hoops and cops and robbers. All games played are chosen and voted on by the children.Wii Wednesdays with Wade - 5:00pm - 6:00pm
This program is held in the homework room at Crossways and is a chance for homework kids (only) to unwind after school by challenging Wade, one of our homework tutors and self proclaimed Wii expert/guru/unbeatable Wii superstar to any number of non-violent videogames prior to hitting the homework books.
Homework Club - 6:00pm - 8:30 pm

THURSDAYS
Nails, Ponytails & Lego Mania - 3:40pm - 5:00pm
Kids can come to WBYO Thursday afternoons and give and get manicures, hairstyles, or even get their hair cut by Ken. We also pull out a giant box of 10,000 Lego pieces to play with.Team Sports Night - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
This program is geared towards the 8-12 year old age group. Younger children are welcome to join in and often do. We use either the field or the gym at Mulvey School. On these nights we play games like basketball, soccer, soccer-baseball, volleyball, baseball, and floor hockey. As always, all games played are chosen and voted on by the children.FRIDAYS
Office Day - 9:00am - 5:00pm
Fridays are our office days. We use this time to write letters, make phone calls to arrange outings and events, do shopping for needed items, brainstorm ideas, critique the past week and plan for the upcoming week. Basically on Fridays we catch up on all the administrative stuff that we have neglected during the week. Parents, children and other community members are encouraged to drop by with questions, concerns, ideas or just to visit.
Call ahead to make sure we are in the office and not out doing the chores!
